Stampin' Up! Partners with Mission of Hope, Haiti

It has been a hectic week and I just now had a chance to upload pictures from the cruise. I will share a re-cap in tomorrow's post, but today I wanted to share about this year's service project. As part of Stampin' Up!'s Making a Difference initiative, they have incorporated service opportunities in most events, including the incentive trips. Last year, we painted and did yard maintenance for a local hospital in Fiji.

This year, we were a little more restricted since we were on a cruise ship. In addition to collecting supplies and clothes to donate, Stampin' Up! sponsored a Walk-a-Thon. For every lap we walked around the ship's jogging track, the Shelli and Sterling Gardner Family Foundation donated $1.50 to Mission of Hope, Haiti -- a fantastic organization working to rebuild communities in Haiti . . . one house and community project at a time.

The track was packed full with orange shirts during the Walk-A-Thon and other cruisers even got involved! Jim and I walked 10 laps -- the equivalent of 2.5 miles, I think. All together, we raised enough money to sponsor the building of three homes for Haitian residents!
Mission of Hope, Haiti is raising funds to provide permanent homes for the some of the hundreds of thousands of Haitian residents left homeless after a devastating earthquake in January 2010. Learn more about the Blue to Block project and Mission of Hope, Haiti and find out how you can get involved and make a difference!
